Brother Crow

Greetings noble Brother.
Oh great Lord of Darkness,
how you suffer so.
Misunderstood by the world,
hated and feared for the allusion to the Unknown.
Your caustic cry berates the wary
with ominous death knolls.
Your black-plumed splendor, to them,
masks a carrion disposition.
But they don't know, as I know Brother,
the truth of your disgrace.
You are the Savior of the Dead,
accompanying souls to final rest.
Both Guardian and Caretaker,
you dispose of their remains, it's true.
But more importantly, you bring
the dead to peaceful After Life,
sending them Home, to rest at last.
My praises, Brother, and gratitude
as none credit you as deserved.
My love to you as well dear Brother.
Attend our dead.  Lead us Home.
